Dr Ahmed Alhilou graduated from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom in 2008 with distinction in Microbiology. Following the completion of his foundation training in the Yorkshire deanery, he completed a 5-year SAC approved specialist training program in all aspects of Restorative Dentistry at the Leeds Dental Institute. This included the assessment and the provision of treatment to patient referred in from primary care. The case mix had been varied and of increasing complexity which include cleft lip and palate, hypodontia, orthognathic cases, elderly patients with complex restorative treatment needs, Dental trauma, Head & Neck Oncology patients, Endodondtics, Periodontics and Implant Dentistry
Ahmed was awarded the Fellowship in Restorative Dentistry and membership in Prosthodontics by the Royal college of surgeons of Edinburgh in 2019.
Ahmed was then awarded two subspeciality implant fellowships; the prestigious ITI implant fellowship and the Digital Implant fellowship at the Centre of Implant Dentistry at the University of Florida, USA between 2019-2021. The unique fellowships enabled him to gain knowledge in Surgical and Restorative Implant Dentistry for complex patients. During his time as a clinical fellow, he was involved in complex treatment planning, Surgical & Restorative procedures, Implant maintenance and laboratory techniques. There was also a heavy emphasis on the use of the digital pathway in Implant dentistry, which ranged from data acquisition to utilizing CAD/CAM technology in treatment planning, designing & the fabrication of 3D printed surgical templates.
In 2021, he served as an Assistant Clinical Professor and the Director of the Implant program at the University of Florida, teaching undergraduate students, Graduate Prosthodontic and OMFS residents’ various aspects of Implant dentistry and the use of digital technology.
He is currently a Consultant in Prosthodontics in Dubai since 2023 and serves as an ORE examiner for the Royal college of surgeons of England and ITI study club director in the city of Dubai.
