Professor Kuriakose currently serves as the Medical Director at Karkinos Health, an oncology platform advancing early detection and precision care in India. He also holds a prestigious joint appointment at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York, where he is Professor and Vice Chairman of Head and Neck, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and Director of Translational Research.

Research-Driven Clinical Innovation

Renowned for his expertise in advanced oral cancer and skull base tumor management, Professor Kuriakose’s work extends beyond the operating room. His research is focused on two critical areas of impact:

  • Early detection of oral cancer, aiming to improve survival rates through timely diagnosis
  • Targeting cancer stem cells, with the goal of interrupting the carcinogenic process at its root

His scientific contributions include over 350 peer-reviewed publications, and he is the author of the seminal four-volume textbook Contemporary Oral Oncology — a definitive resource in the field. He also holds nine patents related to cancer detection and treatment technologies.

Professor Kuriakose has held influential leadership roles throughout his career, including serving as President of the Indian Head and Neck Cancer Association and the International Academy of Oral Oncology.
